10 Greatest Nicknames in Lakers History

#4 – Big Shot Rob Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Michael Jordan each earned 6 NBA Championships. Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant have  5 rings.  Shaquille O’Neal and Tim Duncan all have 4. Larry Bird has 3. Wilt Chamberlain has 2. Dr. J has 1. Robert Horry has 7. SEVEN. That’s more than LeBron James, Karl Malone, Charles Barkley, John Stockton, David Robinson, Adrian Dantley, Bernard King, Hakeem Olajuwon, Allen Iverson, Dwayne Wade, Patrick Ewing, “Pistol” Pete Maravich, George Gervin, Dominique Wilkins, Bob Lanier, Elgin Baylor, Steve Nash and Kevin Garnett COMBINED. This is probably the point where you say: “He was just a role player. If I played with The Dream, The Diesel, The Mamba and The Big Fundamental my whole career, I’d have 7 rings too!” Well, no you wouldn’t. Unless of course you hit series changing shots with regularity like Big Shot Rob did. Go ahead and take a look at some of Rob’s greatest hits and try to tell me the man didn’t earn his rings.

That’s Big Shot Rob you’re talking about, you better read a paper or something. (NOTE: Some people prefer the name Big Shot Bob. Apparently Robert Horry hates  the name Bob, and while the alliteration with Big Shot Bob is nice, if it’s not cool with Rob, it’s not cool with me. Let’s move on.)
