The speculation surrounding Karl-Anthony Towns and whether he’ll go one or two in the 2015 NBA Draft can now come to an end. The Kentucky product was rumored to either fall to the Los Angeles Lakers with the second overall pick or be taken number one by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

With Towns off the board, the Los Angeles Lakers are officially on the clock with all indications pointing to the storied franchise either taking Jahlil Okafor out of Duke or Ohio State’s D’Angelo Russell.
Although Okafor seems to be the prospect the Lakers will go with on Thursday night, Russell has gained a lot of steam over the last few days. Many believe the Lakers should go with Russell due to the NBA becoming a guard-driven league and the former Buckeye being the ideal player to lead Los Angeles in that direction.
At this point in time, nothing is set in stone for the franchise as the Lakers brass weigh their options. Trade rumors surrounding the potential acquisition of DeMarcus Cousins continue to swirl around Los Angeles with the team doing everything within their power to land the All-Star center on Thursday.
The safe bet for the Lakers continues to be taking Okafor with the second overall pick, but it seems as though anything can happen with no telling what the roster will look like at the end of the day.
