A lot has changed in Laker Land over the past two years and it appears even more drastic changes will be on the horizon with Kobe Bryant demanding the front office turn this around this summer.

One of those changes could be the Lakers signing star forward Carmelo Anthony come July. Although Anthony still has to opt-out of his deal with the New York Knicks, the Lakers will be an option if he ultimately makes that decision.

During an appearance on The Dan Patrick Show on Wednesday, Kobe talked about Anthony and gave his good friend nothing but praise. Kobe said the following about the perennial All-Star:

Many believe that Anthony simply isn’t a good fit for the Lakers and that it would be unwise for the team to sign him to a long-term deal. Anthony turns 30 in May and there’s no telling how much longer he can play at an elite level or even if he can coexist playing alongside Kobe in Los Angeles.

Regardless of all the questions and concerns surrounding Anthony, the Lakers will likely pursue the superstar if he becomes available this summer. Los Angeles will have some stiff competition for Anthony’s services with the Houston Rockets and Chicago Bulls also rumored to be interested in signing him in the off-season.
