The Lakers were back in action Tuesday night to take on the New York Knicks. It was the first meeting between the two teams since former Lakers coach Phil Jackson became president of basketball operations for the Knicks last week. Pau Gasol was diagnosed with vertigo and sat out the game for the Lakers. Chris Kaman got the starting role in Gasol’s absence. The Lakers had a record of 23-46 entering the matchup.
