According to Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News, Jordan Farmar hopes to re-sign with the Lakers this summer:
Hence, why Farmar wants to stay with the Lakers when he becomes a free agent this offseason.
“I’ll be fine. The Lakers will be fine,” said Farmar, a former Woodland Hills Taft High and UCLA standout. “I have plans and high hopes to be here for a long time. I hope it all works out.”
Despite experiencing arguably one of the worst seasons in franchise history, quite a few players on the current squad want to stay in Los Angeles. Along with Farmar, the majority of the players the team that are set to become free agents have expressed a desire to remain in Los Angeles.
Among the players expressing interest in re-signing with the Lakers this summer are Jodie Meeks, Wes Johnson and Xavier Henry.
Not only have Farmar and the three players mentioned shown an interest in being retained by the Lakers, but Pau Gasol has not ruled out a return to the team. Nick Young may also re-sign with the storied franchise if able to work out a new deal with the team in the off-season.
