The Lakers will look to even the season series with the Houston Rockets tomorrow night. They will have to do it without two of their best big men.

According to Lakers reporter Mike Trudell, Pau Gasol and Chris Kaman will both miss tomorrow’s game, but there will also be a return:

Kaman is dealing with a strained right calf while Gasol has continued to feel the effects of his bout with vertigo and it is unknown if he will play another game this season.

It will definitely be a huge plus if both Farmar and Nash play tomorrow night. Nash needs only five assists to move ahead of Mark Jackson into third on the all-time list. There is very little doubt that he would accomplish that if he plays.

Just as important would be the return of Farmar. Farmar has not played since March 14 thanks to a tear in his groin, but he has played excellent when he has been healthy.

With Xavier Henry set for surgery and out for the season, the Lakers needed another guard to help Kendall Marshall with point guard duties. Marshall has been up and down recently so having Nash and Farmar there to relieve him is extremely important.

Farmar has spoken about wanting to return to the Lakers next year, and he has a chance to make a lasting impression in these last five games.
