After Mike D’Antoni’s resignation from the Lakers, rumors have continued to surface about the team’s vacant head coaching position.
While some coaches like Kentucky’s John Calipari have made it known that he doesn’t plan on leaving his team, one former coach expects to hear from the Lakers.

According to Sam Amico from Fox Sports Ohio, NBA veteran coach George Karl has yet to hear from the Lakers, but expects to eventually:
#Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak & George Karl were roommates in college. But Karl tells @SiriusXMNBA he has yet to hear from LAL. Expects to, tho.

Heading into the off-season, Karl is one of the most successful coaches in the league. Winning the coach of the year in 2013, George Karl has an impressive overall coaching record in the regular season career with 1,131 wins.
The Lakers still plan to be extremely thorough in their search for the new head coach. They will reportedly wait to see what coaches are available at the end of the season.
While the vacant head coaching position will continue to be a hot topic, the team is focused on the draft and free agency as the lottery is quickly approaching.
