The NBA awards for the 2013-14 NBA season have been handed out left and right over the last few weeks with no real surprises as to who came out on top.
With the Los Angeles Lakers having one of the worst seasons in franchise history, few believed that any of those awards would go to anyone in purple and gold. Only three players on the squad, Jodie Meeks, Ryan Kelly and Nick Young, actually in contention for a regular season award with Young likely to have the best chance of winning.

Unfortunately for Young, Jamal Crawford had another solid season for the Los Angeles Clippers winning Sixth Man of the Year honors once again according to Rob Mahoney of SI.com:
Los Angeles Clippers guard Jamal Crawford has been named the 2013-14 NBA Sixth Man of the Year.
It was a two-man competition for sixth man this season with Taj Gibson of the Chicago Bulls also receiving serious consideration. Crawford came out on top with 57 first place votes to Gibson’s 49.
As for Young, the veteran guard/forward was given some recognition for his efforts in Los Angeles receiving three third place votes. Young started off the season strong and was the team’s leading scorer for quite some time before Pau Gasol got back to form offensively.
As a result of Young’s solid season with the Lakers, the journeyman has increased his value heading into free agency this July. Young still has to opt out of his deal with the Lakers, but all indications point to him doing just that.
Young hasn’t ruled out a return to the Lakers this summer, but it remains to be seen how interested the team is in bringing him back with a much more lucrative deal.
