The Los Angeles Lakers have won the amnesty auction on veteran forward Carlos Boozer, according to ESPN’s Marc Stein:

As a result of the winning bid, Boozer will essentially replace Pau Gasol in the lineup for the Lakers. Boozer was amnestied by the Bulls in order to make room for Gasol’s contract in Chicago.
The Lakers attempted to get a sign-and-trade done with the Bulls in order to acquire Boozer in exchange for Gasol, but talks fell apart leading to Chicago parting ways with Boozer via the amnesty clause.
With Boozer heading to Los Angeles, rookie Julius Randle will likely start his career with the Lakers coming off the bench next season.
