Happy Birthday to the Legendary Chick Hearn!

Today is an exciting day for everybody over at Lakers Nation as we are celebrating the birthday of the late, great, Chick Hearn. The legendary Lakers broadcaster helped revolutionize the way games are called today, and was truly a pioneer in his business. From his 3,338 consecutive games to the ‘Chick-isms’ that are so recognizable today, Francis Dayle Hearn was one of the best the game has ever seen.

At Lakers Nation we try to bring you the games in the spirit of Chick, providing insight and analysis the way he did for so many years on the Lakers sideline. From the slam dunk to the air ball, Chick Hearn’s new terms are now commonplace amongst NBA, NCAA, WNBA, and International basketball. He was truly the most influential sportscaster the game has ever seen.

For those of you who really want to show your love for Chick Hearn, take a look at our ‘Remembering Chick’ t-shirt, which is a lasting tribute to the legendary Lakers broadcaster.

Now we’ll have Chick put things to rest like only he could. Happy birthday Chick!
