The first five games for the Los Angeles Lakers have been brutal to say the least. Even though Kobe Bryant appears to be back to his dominant form in terms of being able to light up the scoreboard, the rest of the team has struggled to find their way.

Currently, the Lakers are one of only two teams in the league without a win thus far. The Philadelphia 76ers are also struggling to figure things out sitting at 0-6.

Although many have begun to speculate when the Lakers will get their first win of the season, newcomer Wayne Ellington believes it will come this Sunday against the visiting Charlotte Hornets, via TWCSportsNet:

In the first five games of the 2014-15 NBA season, the Lakers had arguably one of the toughest schedules in the league. Kobe and company had to play five games in eight days against playoff-caliber teams.

Needless to say, the NBA schedule-makers seem to have set them up for failure. Los Angeles has a new head coach and seven new players on the squad to go along with a few major injuries. Rookie Julius Randle went down in the season opener against the Houston Rockets to go along with Steve Nash being done for the season and Nick Young set to miss considerable time.

Despite the rough start, Ellington appears confident the team will finally turn it around with a win over the Hornets. Charlotte is currently 3-3 on the season and are coming off a thrilling double overtime victory against the Atlanta Hawks. Lance Stephenson hit the game-winning three to seal the deal with time expiring in the second overtime period.
