Kobe Bryant On Shot Attempts: ‘I’m More Than Willing To Sit Back’

The Los Angeles Lakers continue on their losing ways and the team now stands at the bottom of the Western Conference with a 1-9 record. Kobe Bryant had another prolific scoring night on Sunday, but the team could not contain the Warriors and eventually left the court losers, 136-115.

The defense did not show up and the Warriors were able to score 74 points in the first half and finished the game shooting 53 percent from the field. Kobe ended up scoring 44 points, but he did it while attempting 34 shots with a dismal plus/minus of -34. After the game, Kobe talked about his shot attempts and says he is willing to sit back via Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

Bryant is coming off a nine-point performance against the San Antonio Spurs, but on Sunday, he made sure he would not end up with another single-digit scoring night. This season, Bryant has been the only bright spot for the Lakers and he is currently second in the league in scoring with 27.3 points per game.

Los Angeles has been very disappointing this season and it is hard to believe the team will be able to make a push for the post season come late March. Bryant has a lot on his shoulders and the coaching staff is relying on him to spur the offense and stay active on defense. However, at 36 years old, Kobe is truly neither willing or capable of guiding a lackluster team like this to the playoffs.
