In his first two games back from the thumb injury, Nick Young didn’t miss a beat despite sitting out the first 10 games of the season. Young scored 17 points in both of his first two appearances in his return, but has struggled in the last two outings shooting a combined of 4-for-19 for only 12 points.

In an attempt to pull Young out of his current shooting slump, head coach Byron Scott will get him much more involved against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday, according to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

As seen in Young’s first two games, the Lakers are a much more dangerous team offensively and defensively when he’s playing up to his potential. Young has made an impression on both ends of the floor when engaged while also being a positive presence in the locker room.

Scott knows the kind of impact his best bench player provides when on his game and hopes he’ll be able to help lead the team to victory against arguably the best team in the league.

Memphis has won eight of their last 10 games heading into their matchup with the Lakers on Wednesday. Scott’s squad played well against the Grizzlies back on Nov. 11, but fell short with Mike Conley leading Memphis to a five-point win at the FedEx Forum.
