Reggie Miller: Michael Jordan Is ’10 Times Better’ Than Kobe Bryant

Kobe Bryant

With Kobe Bryant officially passing Michael Jordan on the NBA’s all-time scoring list recently, the debate rages on about who was the better player.

On Tuesday, Reggie Miller chimed in on the topic on The Dan Patrick Show. Miller was asked whether it was tougher to guard Bryant or Jordan during his playing days with the Indiana Pacers. The future Hall of Famer didn’t hesitate to praise his former rival:

“Michael Jordan on his worst day is 10 times better than Kobe Bryant on his best day.”

Miller is one of the few prominent players in the NBA that had the opportunity to play against both Jordan and Bryant in their prime. Although playing against these two definitely hurt his chances of winning a title, Miller seems to have nothing but respect for arguably the two best players to ever play the shooting guard position.

There will be no end to the comparisons between Kobe and Michael. Bryant passing Jordan for third on the all-time scoring list has kicked the debate in high gear once again. If Kobe intends to retire after next season, he’ll have about a season and a half left to distance himself from the Chicago Bulls legend.

Regardless of what Kobe is able to accomplish in his final year, these two living legends will continue to be linked long after Bryant decides to walk away from the game. Unless the Los Angeles Lakers can drastically turn things around, Jordan will likely always have the edge with six championships over Kobe’s five, but it won’t stop the debate from continuing for years and years to come.
