Kobe Bryant has undergone season-ending surgery for the third straight year and is facing nine months of rehab as a result. Even though Bryant won’t be back on a basketball court anytime soon, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar is keeping busy as usual.

On Wednesday night, Kobe will make his first public appearance since undergoing surgery on his right shoulder to repair a torn rotator cuff on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Ironically enough, Bryant will make his appearance on the same night Nick Young’s girlfriend, Iggy Azalea, is set to performance on Fallon’s show. Other guests for Wednesday’s show include Vin Diesel, Carl Reiner and Jennifer Hudson.

Although Fallon’s show is based in New York, The Tonight Show is currently broadcasting from Universal Studios in Hollywood for the week. Kobe is supposed to stay relatively immobile in his first few months following surgery, but will make the trip from Newport Beach regardless.

Fallon is bound to ask Bryant some interesting questions about his immediate future. Retirement might be one of those questions along with the state of the Los Angeles Lakers franchise and what he may intend to do in the off-season to help right the ship.
