Lakers News: Byron Scott Says Starting Lineups Will Be Game-By-Game Scenario

The Los Angeles Lakers are currently on a two-game winning streak with the team beating the Boston Celtics and Utah Jazz in consecutive games. Although the Lakers have been able to come out on top the last two games, the starting lineup may continue to change moving forward.

After practice on Thursday afternoon, head coach Byron Scott said that he’ll continue to shake things up with changes to the starting lineup, via Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

At this point in time, Scott is in the evaluation process with this roster moving forward. The Lakers will not be making the playoffs this season and as a result, the season is basically lost in terms of playing for something.

With that being said, evaluating the players who might have a role on the team beyond this season is a wise decision. Rookie Jordan Clarkson will likely be Scott’s focus in terms of seeing where the Missouri product excels.

A few other players on the current squad that could be apart of this evaluation process in Los Angeles include Ed Davis, Tarik Black, Jeremy Lin and Wayne Ellington. Davis and Black are perhaps the most intriguing players, but both Lin and Ellington are set to hit free agency this summer.

Black is under contract for next season while Davis has a player option. Davis will likely opt out of his deal, but the Lakers could re-sign him if they feel he’s worth the investment.
