Jeremy Lin Has Not Ruled Out Lakers In Upcoming Free Agency

After the Los Angeles Lakers failed to sign a big-name this past off-season, the franchise moved to ‘Plan B’ which featured trading for Jeremy Lin and a first round pick from the Houston Rockets.

Heading into the season, Steve Nash was expected to be the team’s starting point guard, but was ruled out for the entire season. As a result, Lin was given the opportunity to start, but was inconsistent in his first 20 games. At his exit interview on Tuesday, Lin spoke about his upcoming free agency according to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

In his first season with the Lakers, Lin had difficulties adapting his game to the system, but played extremely well after the All-Star break. During this stretch, Lin averaged 13.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists while being re-inserted in the starting lineup.

Lin’s future will likely be dependent on what the Lakers do in the draft and free agency. If the Lakers keep their top-five pick, D’Angelo Russell and Emmanuel Mudiay will be available while Rajon Rondo and Goran Dragic will also be unrestricted free agents.
