Originally signed to a 10-day contract because of the injuries that destroyed the Los Angeles Lakers backcourt, Jabari Brown impressed enough that the Lakers signed him through next season as well.

Now that his rookie year is done, Brown will be someone to watch during the summer as he looks to improve and make the Lakers roster next year. He spoke about still having to prove himself at his exit interview via Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:
Jabari Brown on message from Byron Scott & Mitch Kupchak: "I still have to prove myself in this league, but I got off to a good start."

While he knows he still has a lot to prove at the NBA level, he is still excited about what the future holds according to Lakers reporter Mike Trudell:
Jabari Brown: "I'm excited about what the future holds." Kupchak/Scott liked what they saw from him and the start he's off to.

Brown was impressive in his opportunity with the Lakers, but with so many changes expected for the Lakers this off-season there is no telling who will be around next year. Brown has a non-guaranteed deal for next season so nothing is certain yet.
Brown will be one of many players to watch on the Lakers summer league team which could be loaded with talent depending on what the Lakers do in the draft. The road is only beginning for Brown, but he sounds as if he is ready for the challenge.
