Byron Scott On Kobe Bryant’s Training: ‘I Don’t Want Him To Overdo It’

The Los Angeles Lakers have many questions surrounding them this season as a number of things will change by the time the team is ready for training camp. Arguably the biggest question, however, is the status of Kobe Bryant and how he will look when that time comes.

Kobe is already beginning to ramp up his rehab after surgery for his torn rotator cuff, but head coach Byron Scott doesn’t want Kobe to ‘overdo it’ according to Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News:

Though he is worried about Kobe working too hard, Scott did add that Kobe told him he feels great and just started lifting weights according to Lakers reporter Mike Trudell:

Bryant had surgery in January and the expected recovery time was nine months which would make him ready just in time for the beginning of the regular season.

Scott has already said that he has learned his lesson after playing Kobe too many minutes early this season. He will surely not be making that mistake again as the Lakers hope to make Kobe’s final season special.
