Los Angeles Lakers Vs. Brooklyn Nets Postgame (videos)

The Los Angeles Lakers snapped an eight-game losing skid on Tuesday night in their 107-101 victory over the Brooklyn Nets, but the story of the game was 20-year-old rookie D’Angelo Russell, sinking eight three-pointers and finishing with a career-high 39 points. Russell became the first Laker rookie since Elgin Baylor in 1959 to score at least 39 points in a game.

It was the Lakers second game of running a new offensive set, which Byron Scott implemented last Thursday, and the team had three days of practice after their loss to the Memphis Grizzlies to fine tune the offense. The set has not been entirely new to Russell, Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle, Anthony Brown, Larry Nance, Jr. or Tarik Black, who all ran it during NBA Summer League.

Randle also posted his 25th double-double of the season with 14 points and 13 rebounds, and his 34th 10+ rebound game this year. Clarkson led the team with seven assists, and the Lakers assisted on 22 of their 41 field goals. Check out our post-game videos below and see what Russell had to say about his on-court celebration that went viral.
