Back in 1994, the NFL left the city of Los Angeles with the Raiders and Rams leaving town for Oakland and St. Louis. 20 years later, the Rams have returned and hope to win over NFL fans in the City of Angels once again.

With the Rams having to wait three years for their new stadium in Inglewood to be built, the one-time Super Bowl champions will play their first three seasons at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Although the schedule for the 2016 NFL season has yet to been released, the first game of the Rams return to Los Angeles will be one of the hottest tickets in town.

On Friday, Rams All-Pro defensive tackle, Aaron Donald, was asked if he could pick one celebrity to see in the crowd during the team’s season opener who would it be. Donald hopes Kobe Bryant will be in attendance when the season gets underway, according to Marc Sessler of NFL.com:

The 2016 NFL season will get underway in September. Bryant’s last season with the Los Angeles Lakers will be long over by that time with the Lakers playing their final game on April 13 against the Utah Jazz at the Staples Center.

Along with Donald wanting to see Kobe in the stands in September, reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year, Todd Gurley, was quoted as saying he hopes to replace Bryant as the star attraction in Los Angeles.

Gurley burst onto the scene for the Rams last season torching opposing defenses in the NFL on a weekly basis. The 21-year-old running back could quickly emerge as the next superstar athlete in Los Angeles while helping transform into a playoff contender once again.
