With the 2016-17 NBA season just around the corner, 2K Sports is set to release their new game NBA 2K17 this Friday. While not much is known about what changes were made to the game, the brand has slowly been releasing videos and commercials, as well as player ratings to the public.

A few Los Angeles Lakers players have already released their rating for the game, as D’Angelo Russell is currently the highest at 79 rating, followed by Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle who are both 77’s and Larry Nance who comes in at 75. Russell finished last season as a 77.

Russell, along with the reigning NBA Rookie of the Year Karl-Anthony Towns, were recently in the 2K studio to motion capture for the game to make it more realistic. It appears that they captured Russell doing some celebrations, as in their newest commercial NBA 2K17 featured Russell, along with many other NBA superstars, via NBA 2K:

The video also features some players who will be playing for new teams this season, including Kevin Durant for the Golden State Warriors, Dwyane Wade for the Chicago Bulls and Derrick Rose for the New York Knicks.

The Lakers first-round draft pick Brandon Ingram can also be seen with Russell on the Lakers bench at one point. While roles on the Lakers for the upcoming season remain unclear with training camp not yet underway, Russell will certainly be the starting point guard for Los Angeles and Ingram will either start at small forward or come off the bench depending on what head coach Luke Walton and the Lakers coaching staff decides to do with veteran Luol Deng.
