Lakers News: Nick Young Adidas Crazylight Boost 2016 Player Exclusive To Release
Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

As a sneaker free agent throughout last season, Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young jumped ship and agreed to a multiyear contract with Adidas in December 2015. Nike had the right to match their competitor’s offer, but elected not to do so.

The changing of brands came as somewhat of a surprise considering the 31-year-old had worn various Nikes, including shoes from Kobe Bryant’s signature line, since his days at USC. The personable shooting guard cited Adidas’ more inclusive approach as reason behind shelving Nikes.

Young reaped early benefits as he donned a pair of the coveted Yeezy Boost 750 for one half as an announcement of sorts of his new shoe contract.

While Young stood to gain from the sneaker agreement, it didn’t go over particularly well with Bryant, who refused to sign Young’s Adidas shoes and threw them in the trash after the Bryant’s final game of his career.

Now Young is among multiple NBA athletes leading the promotional charge for the Adidas Crazylight Boost 2016. In October, the footwear company released a “Swaggy P” player edition of the Crazy Explosive Primeknit.

Next on the docket for Young is a player exclusive of the Crazylight Boost 2016 low, which features a black and purple primeknit upper and yellow accents, via SoleCollector.com:

The Crazylight Boost has seen three versions thus far, with the first being an all-white model that was released in July. It was followed shortly after by a James Harden USA colorway.

Featuring full-length Boost, a cushioning system found on a wide array of Adidas shoes, Crazylight is advertised as the “ultimate low-top basketball shoe.”

A U.S. release date for Young’s second player exclusive shoe with Adidas, which is expected to retail for $130, has not yet been set. However, it is currently available on Adidas’ European websites.
