Larry Sanders ‘Can’t Wait’ To Get Back To Blocking Shots In The NBA
Lakers Rumors: Los Angeles A Possibility For Larry Sanders?

Larry Sanders seems determined to resurrect his NBA career. The 28-year-old has recently met with a few different teams around the league including the Los Angeles Lakers in an attempt to make a comeback after sitting out all of last season and well as the majority of the previous season.

On Wednesday, Sanders took to Twitter and hinted that he’d be back on the basketball floor on the NBA level soon:

As for the Lakers, the team would have to cut a player in order to sign Sanders. It seems unlikely the team would make the move, especially with so many players on the roster at his position.

Tarik Black recently took over the role as the starting center for Timofey Mozgov. Black has played well in his new role. Rookie Ivica Zubac has also seen a considerable boost in minutes in the second half of the 2016-17 campaign for the Lakers while Mozgov has seemingly fallen out of Luke Walton’s rotation entirely.

Sanders, who was formerly a rising star with the Milwaukee Bucks, hasn’t played on the NBA level since December of 2014. The Virginia product chose to walk away from basketball abruptly that year and explained his reasoning for doing so in an interview on The Players’ Tribune.

With Sanders ready to get his playing career going again, it remains to be seen whether a team in the NBA is willing to take a chance on him. There have been no further details released about Sanders meeting with the Lakers and if the team is interested in bringing him on.

The Lakers brass may have simply been doing their due diligence with Sanders. If he goes unsigned, it’s possible the team could consider bringing him on in the offseason or extend an invite to Summer League.
