The Las Vegas Summer League takes place in the beginning of July, which will give fans their first looks at whoever the Lakers add in the draft as well as a couple of other young players who have been working to improve their game.
It won’t be until preseason however, that fans will be able to see their new team in full including returning players, and whoever the team is able to add in free agency or via trades this summer. We now know exactly when that will take place as the Lakers have announced their preseason schedule via Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

The Lakers preseason will start off on September 30 against Karl-Anthony Towns and the Minnesota Timberwolves. That game will take place in Anaheim at the Honda Center. They will then face the Denver Nuggets for a pair of games on October 2 and 4. The first will be at Staples Center, while the other will be in Ontario at Citizens Business Bank Arena.
The Lakers will then take a trip to Las Vegas to face the Sacramento Kings at T-Mobile Arena on October 8 before finishing off their preseason with a pair of games back at Staples Center. They will host the Utah Jazz on October 10, and face the Los Angeles Clippers on October 13.
This preseason will hit all of the normal spots for the Lakers as they have made it basically an annual tradition to have games in Anaheim, Ontario, and Las Vegas. It should also be noted that the Lakers’ six games is the maximum allowed under the new CBA.
Who knows what the Lakers roster will look like once they take the floor, but we now have an official date and opponent for when they do.
