Lakers Draft Workouts: Thornwell, Motley, Ojeleye, Dotson, Dozier, Rose

The Los Angeles Lakers worked out six draft prospects on Friday morning, in preparation for the 2017 NBA Draft: Sindarius Thornwell, Damyean Dotson, P.J. Dozier, Johnathan Motley, Semi Ojeleye, and L.J. Rose.

Sindarius Thornwell (G, 6’5, 211 lbs., South Carolina) was named SEC Player of the Year, a CBS Sports All-American First Team and SEC All-Defensive Team in 2017. Thornwell started all 132 games of his career, averaging 14.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists.

Damyean Dotson (G, 6’5, 210, Houston) finished his 2016-17 season as First Team All-American Athletic Conference and started all 64 games in his two years at Houston, averaging 17.4 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists.

P.J. Dozier (G, 6’6, 205 lbs., South Carolina) spent two years with the Gamecocks and tallied career-highs in points (13.9), rebounds (4.8) and steals (1.7), while leading the teams in assists (2.8).

Johnathan Motley (F, 6’10, 230 lbs., Baylor) was the Karl Malone power forward of the Year award winner, and both a Naismith and Wooden Awards finalist, in addition to his First Team All-Big 12 and Consensus Second Team All-American selections.

Semi Ojeleye (F, 6’8, 230 lbs., SMU) spent his first two seasons at Duke where he was a member of the 2015 National championship team. After transferring to SMU in search of more playing time, Ojeleye was 2016-17 ACC Player of the Year.

L.J. Rose (G, 6-‘3, 200 lbs., BYU) played his freshman season at Baylor before transferring to Houston and then BYU. While at BYU for his senior season, he averaged a career-best 4.6 rebounds with 5.5 points and 4.7 assists per contest.
