With less than two weeks to go to the NBA draft, rumors are swirling around the who the Lakers will select with the No. 2 pick. All signs are currently pointing to a two man race between UCLA’s Lonzo Ball and Kansas’ Josh Jackson.
Both worked out for the Lakers last week, and according to rumors, Ball looked “out of shape” in his trial run. Additionally, speculation is mounting that the Lakers will take Jackson over Ball after the Kansas forward canceled his workouts with the Celtics. Rumors also surfaced the Lakers had “promised” Jackson they would pick him.
Both are solid players, so the Lakers find themselves in a good spot, but drafting Jackson over Ball could save the Lakers some off-court drama when it comes to dealing with LaVar Ball.
For now, all we can do is wait and see what Magic and Co. have in store come draft night.
