There has been much conversation about who the Los Angeles Lakers will take in next week’s NBA Draft. Three of the top prospects are guards which means they would have to assimilate with the Lakers guards already in the fold like D’Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson.

Each of the potential guards has their own strengths and weaknesses. Lonzo Ball is an outstanding passer who makes his teammates better, De’Aaron Fox is a lightning quick guard who excels on defense, and Markelle Fultz can do basically everything on the court.

No one knows who the Lakers will draft until next Thursday, but whoever they take, Clarkson believes he will have no problem fitting in with any of them, according to Mike Bresnahan of Spectrum SportsNet:

Clarkson has taken on a number of roles in his three seasons with the Lakers, going from point guard to shooting guard, to sixth man, back to point guard. He has shown the ability to adapt to whatever the team needs him to do which should make it easier for him to fit in with whoever the Lakers ultimately select.

The Lakers are reportedly split right now on who to draft as both Ball and forward Josh Jackson are getting serious consideration. That is, of course, assuming the Celtics take Markelle Fultz which now may not be a certainty.

Regardless of who the Lakers take they will be adding an outstanding talent to their already promising core. With Brandon Ingram, D’Angelo Russell, Clarkson, Julius Randle, Larry Nance Jr., and Ivica Zubac already in the fold, whoever this latest pick winds up being will add to what is arguably the best young core in the NBA.
