Lonzo Ball and the Los Angeles Lakers came up short against the Boston Celtics in their second NBA Summer League game, despite a triple double from the No. 2 draft pick, in addition to opening the game on a 10-0 run. Despite the loss, head coach Jud Buechler liked the heart and effort he saw from his young players, and especially the 11 points, 11 assists and 11 rebounds night from his point guard.
With Brandon Ingram sidelined for the remainder of summer league, Kyle Kuzma led the Lakers with a game-high 31 points to go along with nine rebounds. David Nwaba also had a solid outing with his 13 points and eight rebounds.
A common theme that is starting to emerge is how Lonzo leads by example, sparking his teammates to make even more passes due to his unselfish nature, something head coach Luke Walton talks about in the videos below.
