Former Lakers Guard Jordan Famar Met With Luke Walton About Returning
Farmar

The Los Angeles Lakers are currently on the market for a reserve guard, and it’s possible that they will turn to a familiar face. While currently they are rumored to be considering Rajon Rondo, Tyler Ennis, Isaiah Canaan, and Ian Clark, it appears that former Laker Jordan Farmar may be trying to throw his hat in the ring.

The 30-year-old Farmar has 10 years under his belt in the NBA, but only appeared in two games last season for the Sacramento Kings. In his NBA career, Farmar has averaged 7.7 points and 2.9 assists in 19.5 minutes. He was a teammate of Lakers coach Luke Walton for four seasons in Los Angeles, and apparently is hoping to make another return, according to Alex Kennedy of Hoops Hype:

The Lakers do indeed need a point guard to back up rookie Lonzo Ball, although they could use combo guard Jordan Clarkson in that role if need be. Still, it would be somewhat surprising to see Farmer return given the names that the team has been linked to. A veteran may be ideal, but if that’s the case, then Rondo or Clark would have to be favored over Farmar.

After landing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope on a one-year, $18 million deal, Los Angeles will now look to add the final pieces to their roster. With a backup point guard being the most glaring need, they will add at least one player soon. In addition to the aforementioned names, it’s also possible that the surging Alex Caruso could play his way into the role after his impressive performances in this year’s Las Vegas Summer League.
