One of the more hilarious feuds in the NBA right now is between LaVar Ball, the father of Los Angeles Lakers rookie point guard Lonzo Ball, and Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid.

It began on draft night when 76ers former first overall pick Ben Simmons tweeted ‘Crazy pills’, after LaVar said that the Lakers would make the playoffs in Lonzo’s first season. Embiid fueled the fire by telling Simmons to dunk on Lonzo so hard that his dad needs to come on the court to save him.

LaVar responded to Embiid’s Tweet saying that he shouldn’t be on Twitter when he can’t stay healthy and hasn’t made the playoffs. Embiid did not take well to that, as he had some expletives for LaVar, which earned him a fine from the NBA.

While the feud was thought to be over after that, as LaVar didn’t talk about it with the media for over a week, he finally got an opportunity to do that, and for the second time he questioned Embiid’s vocabulary, via Jorge Alonso of Bro Bible:

“He get fined every time he say a cuss word. Like I said, his vocabulary is limited. I bet you he can’t say ‘F you’ more than I can say it to him. Cause his ass would be broke. When you working for somebody, shut your mouth.”

LaVar has never been one to shy away from conflict, as he has been very outspoken in the media throughout the entire process of Lonzo becoming a Laker.

It will be interesting to see if Embiid has any more words for LaVar in the near future or if this feud starts to die down. One thing that’s for certain is that the NBA world will be watching whenever the Sixers and Lakers match up this season.
