Lakers Injury News: Larry Nance Jr. Questionable Against Thunder Due To Hip Pointer
Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Lakers saw their season-best four-game winning streak snapped on Monday, and it was no coincidence it came with Lonzo Ball (sprained knee) and Brandon Ingram (sprained ankle) both sidelined.

They suffered their respective injuries in an overtime win against the Dallas Mavericks, with Ingram sitting out the second half, and Ball playing through pain in his knee that subsided. He woke up the following day with soreness, which prompted an MRI that confirmed the sprain.

As the Lakers press ahead for the final game on their road trip, they do so with Larry Nance Jr. also nursing an injury. He was listed as questionable for Wednesday’s matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder, because of a right hip pointer.

Nance was hobbled in the Martin Luther King Jr. Day game with the Memphis Grizzlies after he was fouled on a semi-transition play. The collision prevented Nance from leaping for a shot attempt and sent him awkwardly to his left.

Nance remained hunched over for a few seconds and walked gingerly to the free throw line. He remained in the game but lacked his usual explosiveness and was seen grabbing his hip area.

Nance went to the locker room after checking out in the second quarter and returned to the bench shortly after with an apparent heat wrap/brace wrapped around his waist. He finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds in 26 minutes of action.

The double-double was Nance’s second in the past three games and fourth overall this season. Ingram is also listed as questionable, but there seems to be a sense he will return Wednesday, while Ball is considered doubtful.
