Josh Hart has become one of the most beloved players on the Los Angeles Lakers as the former No. 30 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.

Hart is a very hard worker and is also one of the more accessible and relatable players, constantly on social media interacting with teammates and fans. However, he may need to have a talk with head coach Frank Vogel.

As a young player, Hart is very much in tune with social media and all of the positives and negatives that come along with it. One of the issues with social media is that it gives everyone a voice and access to players — even those who probably shouldn’t have one. Many people criticize players or try to give them advice despite not having nearly the amount of experience in the sport that these players have and Hart doesn’t care for it.

Hart said as much in his appearance on Gilbert Arenas’ The No Chill Podcast recently. Unfortunately for Hart, in his description of these people who think they know more than they do, he inadvertently described his new head coach, via John Ledesma of Twitter (WARNING: ADULT LANGUAGE):

It just so happens that Vogel will be turning 46 years old on June 21 and doesn’t necessarily have the look of a former athlete. Without a doubt, this is purely a coincidence, but it is still a humorous moment that Hart had no clue he was doing.

Hart was obviously talking about the all of the people on social media who love to criticize athletes and think they know better, but most probably never played a sport after high school and have no idea what it takes to succeed at a higher level. However, social media allows people to say whatever they want with little fear of repercussion.

Furthermore, despite the perception, Vogel actually does have a basketball background. Vogel was a starter for Division III Juniata College in Pennsylvania and also played for the JV team at Kentucky in the mid-1990s. Although Vogel wasn’t tearing down the courts at Kansas or North Carolina, he does have some credentials.

In the end, this Hart rant is funny to think about, but ultimately a coincidence. Even still, a phone call to his new head coach may be necessary.
