<< 1954-55 Minneapolis Lakers | 1956-57 Minneapolis Lakers >>
The 1955-56 NBA season was one of the strangest in league history. In a 72-game season, seven of the eight teams finished between 31 and 39 wins, with the Philadelphia Warriors winning 45. The Minneapolis Lakers faced their first ever below .500 season, but still made the playoffs as the No. 2 seed.
They lost in the first round to the No. 3 seeded St. Louis Hawks, and the Warriors would easily make their way to a championship.
