Rumor: John Kuester Out in Detroit; To Join Lakers Next?

The Detroit Pistons have reportedly parted way with head coach John Kuester according to Ric Bucher of ESPN. Kuester coached the Pistons for two seasons and put up a 57-107 record while in Detroit.

During this past season Kuester faced plenty of controversy in Detroit, as he appeared to lose control of the team during the season. Several veteran players reportedly boycotted practice during the season, which led to more speculation that Kuester would be let go during the season.

After hiring Mike Brown last week the Lakers are still looking to hire the rest of their coaching staff for the 2011-12 season. Rumor has it that Brown is interested in bringing

Kuester in as an assistant coach in Los Angeles. Kuester was an assistant coach for two seasons under Brown with the Cleveland Cavaliers before taking the head coaching job with Detroit.
