Any avid fan of the Back to the Future trilogy knows that in the year 2015 there will be flying cars, hoverboards, and clothes that automatically dry off after you get caught in the rain.

These fans also know that in the year 2015 there are some pretty sweet sneakers available as well. This is what Nike has known for decades, and they are finally ready to take you via sneaker to the year 2015.

The release of the new Nike MAG has the sneaker world buzzing, especially since Nike released only 1500 pairs. The shoes are available on Nike’s eBay channel, where you must bid for the kicks.

Now, Nike isn’t looking to just release a pair of futuristic shoes for their own amusement. The enormous sporting goods conglomerate has teamed with Back to the Future star Michael J. Fox, and is donating up to $50 million of the revenue the shoes generate to the Michael J. Fox Foundation to help fight and prevent Parkinson’s disease.

There will only be 1500 pairs of the 2011 NIKE MAG shoes available. Each day for the duration of the ten-day auction, 150 of the shoes will be made available via eBay’s Fashion Vault.

The auction begins today and will end September 18.

Nike also created a brief film to go with the release of the Air MAG. It features NBA star Kevin Durant and Saturday Night Live star Bill Hader. It also has Christopher Lloyd reprising his role as the eccentric Dr. Emmett Brown, the inventor of the DeLorean time machine.
