Derek Fisher to Participate in the ‘Obama Classic’

Los Angeles Lakers guard and players union president Derek Fisher will be participating in a charity game set up for President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign, the Obama Victory Fund.  The game is scheduled for Dec. 12 with tickets starting at $100 and reaching up to $5,000 for court-side seats.

Several NBA stars have already committed to the game including Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire. In addition, Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Blake Griffin, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, John Wall will be helping out the cause.

At this point, a venue for the event is unknown, and the fundraiser cannot take place at the Verizon Center as NBA players cannot play games at league arenas.
