According to Kevin Ding of the O.C. Register, Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Best has been hospitalized with blood clots in his legs. Buss, 77, is expected to be released within a day or two.

Lakers spokesman John Black stated that “[Dr. Buss] is doing well.”

Ding also reported that Buss’ hospitalization was a result of excessive traveling, but Black didn’t specify any further on the situation.

Buss has owned the Lakers since 1979, but has begun transitioning control of the team, as well as the day-to-day operations to his sons, Jim and Joey.
