There’s no question the Los Angeles Lakers have had some trouble this season scoring from behind the three-point line. Currently the team is last in the Western Conference in three-point shooting, even after a 50 percent effort in their last game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night.

Now there’s a rumor that the Lakers might be looking to solve some of their three-point woes by bringing in free agent guard Gilbert Arenas. This may come as a surprise for many, as Arenas hasn’t been a very reliable player over the past few seasons. Injuries have derailed his career to some extent, and he currently is an unsigned free agent.

Still, according to Alex Kennedy of HoopsWorld it seems that the Lakers might be considering Arenas as a free agent signing.

“The Los Angeles Lakers have expressed interest in Gilbert Arenas, according to sources close to the situation. The 30-year-old is an unrestricted free agent after being amnestied by the Orlando Magic last month. No signing is imminent, but the Lakers have reached out to the veteran point guard.”

Arenas might be a bit of a gamble for the Lakers, as his locker room issues have been well documented in the past. Still, he may be able to provide Los Angeles with some help shooting from beyond the arc, where the team has undoubtedly struggled.
