Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Blake did some light shooting drills on Saturday, but he is hasn’t fully recovered from his rib injury, Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times reports. Blake did join the team in this two-game road trip, but may not see playing time for a couple more weeks. Blake was a big piece to the Lakers’ second unit and in his absence, the Lakers miss a shooter from the perimeter and a player who can run the offense well.

“Steve Blake is an important part of the second unit,” Brown said. “We literally are teaching at every opportunity we can, so he needs to be around us to hear and at least watch so that when he does come back, he’s not as far behind.”
In the meantime, Lakers rookie Andrew Goudelock has played well and has filled the void at the point guard position. Goudelock has given the Lakers some three-point shooting and some youth in the back-court. In the previous two games, Goudelock has scored 13 and 14 points.
