The point guard problems the Lakers have been having this season are certainly no secret. After the league nixed a trade that would have sent Chris Paul to the Lakers in December the team has been looking for help at that position ever since.

Now, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, it appears that the Lakers are interested in Cleveland Cavaliers guard Ramon Sessions.

“The Los Angeles Lakers have talked with the Cleveland Cavaliers about possibly acquiring guard Ramon Sessions, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. No deal is imminent, but the Lakers view Sessions as a candidate who could help their depleted backcourt.”

With Steve Blake still sidelined due to injury and an aging Derek Fisher, the Lakers could use Sessions’ production.

According to Wojnarowski’s sources Cleveland is looking at bringing in draft picks to help build for the future. Sessions is currently averaging 9.1 points per game and 34 percent from the field in a reduced role behind number one overall draft pick Kyrie Irving.
