According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas had a private workout in front of Los Angeles Lakers officials. There have been rumors centering around Arenas and the Lakers, and the Sunday workout clearly shows that the team is interested in the guard.
The Lakers’ back-court has had some problems so far this season, and adding a scorer like Arenas would give the coaching staff a reliable scorer to help Kobe. According to sources close to the situation, Arenas made a positive impression but it is unclear how aggressive the Lakers will be to signing him.
Arenas last played for the Orlando Magic, but his stint with the team did not go as planned. Arenas was dealing with knee issues and he was unable to return to his former state. However, he underwent a knee procedure similar to the one Kobe did in Germany, and it seems as though the injury will no longer be a major issue if the Lakers do indeed sign him.
