The Pau Gasol trade rumors have taken another turn this afternoon, as ESPN’s Marc Stein reports he is now drawing interest from the Chicago Bulls.
The Chicago Bulls are exploring avenues to acquire Los Angeles Lakers forward Pau Gasol before Thursday’s trade deadline, according to sources close to the situation.
Sources say that the Lakers, however, have limited interest in the players Chicago would be offering, starting with Bulls forward Carlos Boozer.
The problem here is that the Lakers are not interested in what Chicago is selling – Carlos Boozer. This would mean Chicago needs to get a third team involved that’s interested in Boozer in order for the Lakers to be willing to ship Gasol to Chicago.
As of now, that’s where Chicago is having trouble. The Bulls have been unable, thus far, to find a third team to participate in the trade.
With the trade deadline less than 48 hours away the rumors will continue to swirl.
Gasol and the Lakers are in Memphis tonight to take on the Grizzlies.
