According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Orlando Magic have been in contact discussing a potential trade involving Dwight Howard.
After Howard demanded a trade (again) from Orlando, the team is reportedly shopping him around.
Orlando officials are willing to discuss trades for Howard, and the Lakers have been one of the teams in touch with them over the weekend, sources said.
The Lakers would ultimately have to give up Andrew Bynum in exchange for Howard, which might be something they are unwilling to do – especially if Howard refuses to sign an extension with Los Angeles. Howard has said repeatedly that he doesn’t want to play in L.A., making it likely he wouldn’t extend with the Lakers.
This would leave L.A. with no guarantee that Howard would stay beyond next season when his contract runs out.
