According to TMZ, Lakers owner Jerry Buss was hospitalized late Monday night after apparently falling ill at his home in Los Angeles. The cause was reportedly severe dehydration.
According to sources, 78-year-old Buss fell ill at his home around 9pm and someone inside the house called 911. The L.A. City Fire Department responded and paramedics rushed Jerry to a local L.A. hospital.
It’s unclear if Jerry’s still being treated, or has been released.
Buss was recently hospitalized last December for blood clots in his legs. He has been the owner of the Lakers since 1979 after acquiring the franchise from Jack Kent Cooke.
UPDATE: The Lakers official Twitter feed released an update on Dr. Buss’ condition at approximately 11:10 AM PT.
“Dr. Buss is in a local hospital where he is being treated for dehydration. He is recovering & is expected to be released soon.”
