Source: Lakers Officially Re-Sign Free Agent Jordan Hill

The Los Angeles Lakers have officially agreed to re-sign free agent forward Jordan Hill to a two-year deal worth about $8 million according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports via Twitter:

After agreeing to sign veteran forward Antawn Jamison once he returns from a vacation in Italy, the Lakers next order of business was locking up Hill for at least two to three more years. The talks of re-signing Hill starting to heat up earlier this week with the 24-year-old getting some serious interest from the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Lakers making it known they intended to re-sign him.

Fortunately, the Lakers were able to convince Hill to stick around for the next two seasons. Hill is reportedly excited to play alongside the recently acquired Steve Nash.

With Hill and Jamison coming off the bench, the Lakers’ second unit will be a force to be reckoned with in the frontcourt with both players almost certainly getting significant time on the floor next season. Hill will primarily be the backup for Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol in the frontcourt.

The proposed three-team blockbuster trade to acquire Dwight Howard from the Orlando Magic is still in the works, but as of right now the Lakers are looking pretty even without landing the three-time Defensive Player of the Year.
