Kobe Bryant Credits Healthy Habits and Nutrition for Extending NBA Career

Throughout his Hall of Fame caliber career in the NBA, Kobe Bryant has been able to avoid missing considerable time on the floor for the Los Angeles Lakers by battling through injuries and staying relatively healthy.

At the age of 34, Kobe knows the benefits of eating right and controlling his diet rather than having a careless attitude or mindset in terms of what he puts in his body on a daily basis.

Kobe talked about his nutrition and how he began changing his eating habits a few years ago with father time creeping up on the five-time NBA champion via iVilliage.com:

“My Achilles heel! I only started really focusing on my nutrition a few years ago. I started experiencing low energy and was feeling bloated. Then it hit me: ‘Kobe you’re not 25 anymore’ (I once had pepperoni pizza before scoring 81 points). It was time to adjust, so the struggle began. Lots of veggies, fruits, fish and lean meats.”

A vast majority of people around the world find it difficult to maintain a healthy diet after living a certain way for a most of their lives. Eating food that tastes great and isn’t exactly healthy is something that younger people tend to do on a regular basis and a few of the more active youth don’t feel the effects until later in life.

Kobe happens to be one of those that began to feel these effects and decided to change it up with the knowledge that he wouldn’t be playing in the NBA at a high level for much longer without a drastic change to his everyday lifestyle.

The Lakers superstar went on to explain four other healthy habits that has helped him along with way on his journey to win five championships and maintain his status as one of the best players in the NBA today.

Kobe stresses other healthy habits like exercising, putting aside time to decompress, helping others and an emphasis on appreciating everything and everyone around you along with practicing good nutrition.

Useful tips from the Lakers star for anyone looking to improve their health and lifestyle.
