Chris Bosh Says Lakers Are Best Team on Paper

The Los Angeles Lakers have infused themselves with a plethora of talent this off-season and many expect them to be one of the two teams fighting for the title in June. A Lakers-Miami Heat Finals series is the most likely scenario as of this point and it will be something every basketball fan would enjoy. The stars on the teams have already started to talk about the opponent and Chris Bosh cannot ignore just how talent the Lakers have gotten.

Pro Basketball Talk writes that the Miami Heat star forward believes the Lakers are the best team on paper. Bosh and Heat are coming off an NBA championship, but he has to pay homage to what the Lakers’ front-office did this summer.

“The Lakers, I think, right now, I mean on paper, they probably have the best team in the West and probably the league right now,” he said. “On paper. I’m saying on paper. But it’s a lot, a lot, it’s a long season. And the best team always isn’t the one who starts out the season as the best team.”

A lot more goes into winning a championship than just putting together talent. A front office has to make sure the pieces fit together well and that egos will not become a problem come playoff time. The Miami Heat formed a team of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, a trio that not many teams in the NBA could match.

Still, it took the Heat some time before they finally won the coveted Larry O’Brien trophy. At first the Heat believed their individual talent would help them win the title, but they were surely mistaken. Sacrifice needs to made for a team to succeed and the Lakers must understand. Even though the starting five consists of Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol, Metta World Peace and Steve Nash, nothing is guaranteed in the NBA.

Luckily for the Lakers and the fans, the team’s ‘Fantastic Four’ is comprised of veterans willing to play for the betterment of the team. Bryant and Gasol have won a total of seven titles and they know exactly what it takes to win it all. Steve Nash and Dwight Howard may not have reached the ultimate level, but the coaching staff can trust these players fully whenever they are on the court.
