This morning I reported that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Dwight Howard hadn’t met up despite Dwight’s tweets indicating he wanted to work with the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
Now I don’t want to take credit for anything here, but a few hours after my post Howard tweeted a picture of himself with Kareem on Twitter.
Me and
@kaj33 together. For many years to come. twitter.com/DwightHoward/s…— Dwight Howard (@DwightHoward) September 3, 2012
Howard also tweeted how blessed he felt to spend some time with one of the legendary Laker centers whose path he will be following.
Just set down with
@kaj33. Man God is so good. Was in tears. What a blessing. This is like a dream come true. Go Lakers.— Dwight Howard (@DwightHoward) September 3, 2012
Abdul-Jabbar also mentioned how honored he was to meet with Howard.
#DwightHoward Great meeting you today – Laker Nation is in great hands for years to come. Now lets WIN a championship twitter.com/kaj33/status/2…— Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (@kaj33) September 3, 2012
The most glaring notice here is Howard’s indication that it’s for many years to come. Howard is only under contract for one more season with the Lakers, but could this tweet be implying that intends to be sticking around for awhile?
We shall see. In the meantime, go ahead and comment on how I made this happen by being irritating on Twitter. (Okay, you don’t have to do that. I just like to make myself feel important sometimes.)
