Dwight Howard Lends Voice to Disney’s ‘Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil’

The Los Angeles Lakers recent additions of Steve Nash and Dwight Howard are no strangers to the entertainment business with plenty of time in front of the camera for all sorts of different things.

One of the biggest reasons for Nash signing off on the trade to send him to the Lakers in July was to help his career after basketball and make some contacts in Tinseltown. Nash wants to make a name for himself in the entertainment business once he decides to walk away from the game and there’s no better place to get started.

As for Howard, the superstar center hasn’t exactly gone all-out during his short time in Los Angeles. The three-time Defensive Player of the Year has made some appearances around the city and in front of the bright lights, but far from what Shaquille O’Neal did when he signed with the Lakers back in 1996.

The newest addition to the Lakers’ long line of great centers first made an appearance on MTV’s Video Music Awards with host comedian Kevin Hart. Other than a promotional tour in China for Adidas, Howard has been focusing on rehab in recent workout sessions with Lakers trainer Gary Vitti.

Despite concentrating on rehabbing his back, Howard’s first order of business in the entertainment capital of the world was lending his voice to a cartoon. Howard provided the voice for Rock Callahan as he did battle with another character called The Dark One which was voiced by Tony Reali of “Around the Horn” for Disney XD’s “Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil”:
